Attorney Dia T. Colbert

Attorney Dia Colbert was born and raised in New York City. She attained her educational skills and strong sense of direction through the well-structured education she received at St. Anselm’s Elementary and Cardinal Spellman High schools. With this educational basis, Attorney Colbert was admitted to the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in General Management in 1985.

After returning to New York, Attorney Colbert continued her education by obtaining her Legal Assistant Certificate from Katharine Gibbs School in 1988. At that time, she changed careers and became a practicing Litigation Paralegal. In 1991, Attorney Colbert moved to South Florida, where she continued her career as a Civil Litigation Paralegal.

In 1995, she completed her graduate studies at Barry University’s Andreas School of Business, where she received her MBA in Management. During her studies at Barry University, Attorney Colbert was awarded the 1994 Outstanding Small Business Institute Case for Region IV of the Small Business Administration. Subsequently, while still working as a Paralegal, Attorney Colbert attended Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law School and obtained her Juris Doctor degree.

During her legal career, Attorney Colbert has appeared as guest speaker for elementary, middle school and undergraduate students to discuss with them the importance of education and possible career goals. In 2011, Attorney Colbert appeared with Vice Mayor Winston Barnes of Miramar, Florida at “Another Level of Praise Concert” to present awards to elementary and middle school children for their educational accomplishments during the school term.

Professionally, Attorney Colbert recently received much acclaim for her May 2011 presentation of “Mitigating the Risks and Reducing the Costs of eDiscovery” to the South Florida Chapter of Women in eDiscovery.

Attorney Colbert is a member of the Florida Bar, American Bar Association, National Bar Association, Broward County Bar Association, National Association for Female Executives (“NAFE”), South Florida Chapter of the Association of Litigation Support Professionals (“ALSP”), and is listed in various Who’s Who Publications including Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who of American Women.
